You will sail along on Irrawaddy River for a closer glance at fishing villages and their lifestyle and be stunned by Inle Lake - the “Venice of the East” with its famous floating gardens and villages, one of the most attractive destination of Myanmar tourism. The trekking tour to Taryaw Village will satisfy your adventurous nature before ending your Myanmar tour with a flight back to Yangon.

 

Day 1: Yangon Arrival (Nil)

Upon arrival at the airport, after clearing immigration and customs, meets with your guide with a welcome signboard and transfer for about 30 minutes to the hotel for check in first.

 

We visit around over 2000 year old Sule Pagoda and enjoy photographing for a panoramic view of city. Proceed to Mahabandoola Park with Independent Monument have a memorable scene of colonial building. Then visit to Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda - with 70-metres reclining Buddha statue. Continue to tour Yangon and return to your hotel for a break at around 4:00PM.

 

At 05:00 PM go to the Great Shwedagone Pagoda built the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics. Stay overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 2: Yangon sightseeing

Meals: 1 Breakfast

After the breakfast in the hotel, you’ll first enjoy the city circular train ride, the National Museum – with extensive collection of ancient artifacts, art works and historic memorabilia on display in 14 halls in a splendid five-storey building, Bogyoke Aung San Market - best known for its colonial architecture, inner cobblestone streets and wide selection of souvenirs.

 

In the afternoon, later stroll around Kandawgyi Lake, also known as “Royal Lake,” to enjoy the sunset and the reflection of the Shwedagon Paogoda on its waters. Then walk along the China Town where you can see many local small restaurants with BBQ and local beer. Myanmar snacks and fresh fruits as well. Stay overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 3: Yangon - Bagan

Meals: 1 Breakfast

(RGN-BGN/ W9-143 @ 06:30-07:50) or similar.

Early morning flight to Bagan. Full day sightseeing tour of Bagan with a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples, such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; the Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes; the Ananda Temple, with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior and the Shwe Gu Gyi Temple, noted for its fine stucco carvings and panoramic views of the area's many monuments.

 

In the afternoon visit lacquerware workshops in New Bagan and has also a number of interesting temples, as Nanphaya Temple, said to have once been the residence of King Manuha and Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, which has very nice frescoes inside. Enjoy your soothing sunset at Shwesandaw Pagoda. Stay overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 4: Bagan

Meals: 1 Breakfast

Rise up early for an incredible sun rise view from Bagan Tower.

After breakfast, we will go along the temples and beautiful villages of Bagan. We will drop by the village of Myinkaba, famous for its local market. Our next stop is Myazedi Pagoda, an interesting architectural monument. A visit to Manuha Village, welcomed by smiling local families making peanut oils, cigars will end your outdoor Bagan excursion in the morning.

 

In the afternoon, we will enjoy a 1.5-hour boat trip on the Irrawaddy River visiting Kyauk Kuu Umin and enjoy the sunset by the river bank. Stay overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 5: Bagan - MT. Popa - Bagan

Meals: 1 Breakfast

After Breakfast, you will visit one of local village to discover the real life, how much different compare to other side of the world. Some candies or small gifts would be a great thing for local children. Then driving excursion to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its shrines dedicated to animist spirits known as “Nats”. For the energetic, time to climb up the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the volcanic plug. On the way back, visit palm sugar workshop. Stay overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 6: Bagan - Mandalay

Meals: 1 Breakfast

(Air Transfer BGN-MDL/ W9-143 @ 0835-0905) or similar.

Mandalay can always give Myanmar tours' fans a hint of how the imperial era was like back to the 19th century. In the morning we will fly over Myanmar's golden land to Mandalay.

 

First we visit of Mandalay's major attractions of Mahamuni Pagoda, inside of which the bronze Buddha statue is all yet monks and pilgrims are still applying gold layers everyday. Next, we will visit Golden Palace Monastery, which is famous for its intricate woodcarvings. Continue our trip to the world-known Kuthodaw Pagoda, holding the world's largest book carved Buddhism scriptures on 729 marble slabs.

 

After lunch, we will take a short break and then continue the tour visiting the Mandalay Palace & Fort, which best portrays the golden days of Mandalay Kingdom. Later, we will visit Shwenandaw Kyaung, a traditional modem monastery with carved panels telling the past-life stories of the Buddha. The friendly monks in the monastery will leave you a lifetime memory for your surprise-full Myanmar tours.

 

Our last stop will be the Mandalay Hill. Atop the hill, Buddha once prophesied that a grand city, that is Mandalay of present day, would rise in the 2400th year of his faith. Taking in a panoramic view of the whole city, you might find yes sometimes prophecy does come true. Stay overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 7: Mingun - Sagaing sailing

Meals: 1 Breakfast

Not only in Mandalay do the attractions shine, but also in its outskirt one could find his favorite sites. After breakfast, we will be driving 11km upriver from Mandalay to Mingun. Your trip to Myanmar would not be complete without a boat ride along the Irrawaddy River. As you sail along, you will encounter the views of river life with fishing villages, children playing and women attending to their daily chores.

 

Arrive to Mingun and explore the ruins of the vast Mingun Paya, a monument to human ambition commissioned by King Bodawpaya which was never finished due to a prophecy that the king would die upon its completion. Visit other important pagodas of the area, then re-board your boat and sail towards Sagaing, a place for mediation and contemplation for many nuns and monks. You will stop at some of their famous temples, including Tupayon Paya and Hsinmyashin Paya (Pagoda of Many Elephants).

In the afternoon, back to Mandalay and leisure of the rest of the day. Stay overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 8: Mandalay - Amarapura - Ava

Meals: 1 Breakfast

After breakfast at hotel, proceed to Amarapura; 11 km from Mandalay, visit to Mahagandayon Monastery where more than a thousand monks live and study the Buddha scripture. If time allow, you will have the opportunity to observe the monks having their last meal of the day in total silence.

 

In the afternoon, excursion to Inwa (Ava); the historical capital in 1364. After crossing over the Myit Nge river, visit by horse-curt carriage to Nanmyint Watch Tower, Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery; built of brick and stucco, Bagayar Monastery; famous for its impressive woodcarvings and teak poles.

In the evening, enjoy walk on the 1.2km long U Bein teak bridge which is 162 years old. Stay overnight in Mandalay.

 

Day 9: Mandalay - Heho - Inle Lake

Meals: 1 Breakfast

(Air Transfer MDL-HEH/ W9-011 @ 0850-0915) or similar.

Morning transfer to the airport to take the flight to Heho. Arrival at Heho airport, drive to Nyaung Shwe the gate way of Inle Lake about 2 hours. On arrival Nyaung Shwe jetty and transfer to hotel by small engine boat. Inle Lake is often called the “Venice of the East.” Take some time to see the floating gardens and observe the lifestyle of the local people. Watch carefully and you can see boatmen paddle their craft with an oar using their foot. Then visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and its 5 holy Buddha images.

 

In the afternoon, visit to Inn Paw Khone weaving village and Floating gardens of Hydroponics system (especially tomato, others vegetables).

Finally visit Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, one of the most impressive of the many monasteries on the lake with its 150-200 pillars with elaborate wooden carvings. This monastery is also known as the “jumping cat monastery” where visitors are treated to a show that involves well-trained felines. Stay overnight in Inle Lake.

 

Day 10: Indein sightseeing

Meals: 1 Breakfast

After breakfast, morning explore around the Inle lake and 5th day local market in the lake. Then go to Indein Village, the western end of the Lake.

The boat takes you through a long channel where you watch the farmers cultivate their produce. This ride is one of the most scenic boat tours on Lake Inle.

In the evening, free at leisure. Stay overnight in Inle Lake.

 

Day 11: Inle Lake - Pindaya - Kalaw

Meals: 1 Breakfast

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Pindaya, this is located 40 km north of Aungban and noted for its extensive limestone caves and picturesque lake. We will be passing through the pa o and Danu villages of Pwehla endless fields of dry cultivated mountain rice and potato. Pindaya cave thousands of Buddha image placed there by pilgrimages over many centuries and paper making and umbrella making home cottage workshops.

 

In Pindaya, sightseeing, shopping and you will see the Shan people who own fair and soft skin. After that, proceed to Kalaw about 2 hours where a small hill station town and has English cottages that remain in good repair, some converted into cozy guest houses. Arrive to hotel evening and take a rest. Stay overnight in Kalaw.

 

Day 12: Kalaw - Tar Yaw Village (day return trekking)

Meals: 1 Breakfast

About 07:00 am meet at your hotel with our guide and car then transfer to the starting point to start the trekking for authentic Palaung tribe’s village called Taryaw. This village is about 9 Km (about 2 ½ hours walk) north east of Kalaw and first, you can take the forest route where you will be walking among the Pine woods and by side of small mountain spring. This way is a bit shady. It’s takes about 6 or 7 hours for two ways.

 

Things to see at the village are Palaung ladies with their traditional costumes, tealeaf plantation and orange. The best part of this village is to see Palaung traditional Long House where 6 to 7 families are staying together. Lunch boxes will be arranged for this day from Kalaw.

Then we back to hotel, check-in and leisure at hotel. Overnight in Kalaw.

 

Day 13: Kalaw - Heho - Yangon Departure

Meals: 1 Breakfast

(Air Transfer HEH-RGN/ W9-011 @ 0935-1030) or similar.

After the breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, free at leisure until you catch the flight to next destination by own arrangement./.
